Move more, live longer

I am sending a simple message to start the week — move more! Many people use “exercise” as a form of weight control, but studies repeatedly show this is not effective if you do not balance exercise with your energy intake. If your goal is to stay at a healthy weight and live better to a ripe old age, then simply get up and move more every day.  Of course the way you nourish your body plays a large role too, but my message today is to start your week with even a 15 or 20 minute walk.  I make yoga my Monday ritual to kick the week off right.

For some interesting reading and a message that I want to reinforce, check out this New York Times article from last week (and please read to the end.)
